The library holds a book stock of 9000 + items. All books
are carefully chosen to ensure that they are relevant and up-to-date. Pupils
are encouraged to make suggestions about new books to add to the library’s
shelves and pupil feedback is important. Extra copies of titles are made
available where demand is high and the library caters for all abilities,
interests and year groups. As well as directly supporting coursework, our
stock also supports the wider social and personal development of our pupils.
The library holds books on topics such as health education, human rights and
moral and social issues for example. Also available is a very wide range of
fiction including many award winning titles. The library’s on-line catalogue
“Searchstar” also has links to hundreds of educational websites.
Reading for pleasure is an important aspect of our library’s
provision. There are books to support hobbies and interests as well as
newspapers and magazines and a wide range of fiction titles. As well as the
classics and modern greats these titles include graphic novels, a manga
collection and audio books.
You are invited to browse our library’s blog where you will discover lots of
links to interesting websites. The blog’s pages include a list of award
winning books and the right hand column of the blog includes links to
suggested reading lists. |
