Why We Study
Physical Education
Physical Education is the only subject that focuses
children’s efforts and learning on their body and its physical development.
Evidence indicates that the health and wellbeing of children affect their
ability to achieve and their confidence to learn. When children are fit and
healthy, they are more able to concentrate, learn and do well in school.
The aim of the department is to provide all pupils with
good quality physical education by:
-
Offering pupils worthwhile and enjoyable physical
activity experiences
-
Meeting the needs of all pupils
-
Keeping pupils actively involved for most of the
class time
-
Including cooperative and competitive experiences
-
Developing pupils’ self confidence
-
Helping pupils evaluate their performance
